Concert by Olivera Gočanin, soprano

 

Olivera Gočanin graduated in Solo Singing from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, in the class of Professor Aneta Ilić, where she is currently pursuing her Master's studies. At the same time, she studied Italian language and literature at the Faculty of Philology. Since 2024, she has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, where she made her debut as Susanna in Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro and as Adele in Johann Strauss's Die Fledermaus.

In addition, she debuted as Elisetta in a shortened version of Domenico Cimarosa's opera The Secret Marriage and as the Second Lady in Mozart's The Magic Flute (Opera Studio of the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre), as well as Stanka in Stanislav Binički's opera At Dawn, Juliet Brook in Benjamin Britten's Let's Make an Opera / The Little Sweep, and the Child in the award-winning opera The Children's Room by Milenko Živković (international project Opera: Past, Present, Perfect!).

In 2022, she made her international debut in the roles of Micaëla and Frasquita in Georges Bizet's opera Carmen as part of the Pehlivanian Opera Academy in Slovenia.

Olivera Gočanin is also an accomplished concert artist. She has performed in some of Serbia's most prestigious concert venues, including the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, the National Theatre in Belgrade, the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment, as well as at the Gala Concert marking World Music Day at Dom Sindikata and the Belgrade New Year's Concert at the Sava Center with the RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir under the baton of Maestro Srboljub Dinić.

Her vocal and artistic excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including first prizes at the Cantofest and Rossi Fest Mozart Competition, a third prize at the Corsica Lirica competition, as well as numerous awards at the Nikola Cvejić and Lazar Jovanović competitions and national competitions such as Serbian Solo Song, Mita Topalović, and the National Competition of Solo Singers organized by UMPS.

She has collaborated with many internationally renowned artists through prestigious masterclasses. For several years, she attended the Grand Stage International masterclasses led by Metropolitan Opera soprano Olga Makarina, Vlad Iftinca, and Hugo Mayer. She has also repeatedly refined her skills at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, in the class of Professor Michele Crider.

Furthermore, she participated in a masterclass conducted by Maestro Srboljub Dinić and organized by the MOTO organization.

Guided by her love for music, performance, languages, and acting, Olivera Gočanin approaches every concert performance and every role she interprets with authenticity and profound emotional dedication. As the mother of two daughters, she draws upon a rich inner experience, building a career founded on personal truth and meaningful artistic connection.
