Incanto Quartetto has become synonymous with chamber music excellence in Timișoara, a distinction reflected in the remarkable audience support it has enjoyed for more than thirteen years through its thematic concert series held monthly at the Multifunctional Hall of the Timiș County Council. Today, the ensemble occupies a prominent place in the city’s cultural life, contributing significantly to concert performance, music education for young audiences, and the international promotion of both Timișoara and Romania.
The current formation of Incanto Quartetto, established in 2009, represents a perfect synthesis of accomplished musicians whose outstanding technical and interpretative skills were developed at prestigious music academies in Romania and abroad. United by a shared artistic vision, the ensemble is dedicated to presenting chamber music of the highest quality, broadening cultural horizons, educating new generations of listeners, and offering audiences a place of beauty and reflection amid the demands of modern life.
Led by violinist Ovidiu Adrian Rusu, Concertmaster of the Romanian National Opera Orchestra in Timișoara and one of Eastern Europe’s most highly regarded concertmasters, the quartet brings together distinguished musicians with extensive performing experience. A graduate of the Conservatory in Cluj who further refined his artistry under the guidance of Vladimir Spivakov and Rainer Kussmaul, Rusu is joined by Nada Petrov (violin) and Marius Bernecker (cello), graduates of the Faculty of Music in Timișoara, and Viacheslav Minzat (viola), a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory.
All four musicians are members of the Romanian National Opera Orchestra in Timișoara and have established themselves as exceptional chamber performers. Through their artistic commitment and ensemble cohesion, Incanto Quartetto continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Romania while building an increasingly strong international presence.
